After a long stretch of temps in the teens and 20’s, snow, rain, and dreary skies, I was really looking forward to today–sunny, low 40’s. I headed to the Stony Lake section of Stokes State Forest to see what wonders awaited in the snow. Unfortunately, I was seriously lacking in energy. It felt like I had 20 lb weights attached to my legs.
Suffice to say, I didn’t get very far. I hiked a short distance along Stony Brook near Kittle Field, but the brook and the waterfalls were completely frozen over and not terribly inspiring. Of course, that may have had more to do with my bad attitude than anything else. I’ve really been in a mood lately.
Anyway, I headed up to Stony Lake, but mentally, I just couldn’t do the deep snow. Sure, I could have walked back to my car and gotten my snowshoes, but I may have just gotten in the car and gone home at that point.
Quite frankly, I don’t even have the energy to write this blog, so I’m going to just leave you with the few photos I managed to make before totally giving into my laziness.
